The 1995 UFO Incident in Tanjung Sepat, Malaysia

The last major UFO sighting in Malaysia was the Tanjung Sepat UFO Incident in 1995. That was 17 years ago and due to the long time passing, there are not much information on-line on this and most people have forgotten about the incident.

Sightings of UFOs are rare in Malaysia but once in a blue moon, when it does happen, the sightings will quickly become big news and when the sightings are over, the news of the incident will disappear as fast from people's memories too.

Background of Tanjung Sepat, Selangor.

It is an area near to the coast of the state of Selangor and close to the area which is the Kuala Lumpur International Airport now.

It is a rural area filled with oil palm plantation and thick jungles and occupied by small villages and houses. People who live in the area worked as farmers, fishermen, plantation owners and plantation workers.

The UFO Incident

Reports of people seeing a "UFO as big as a football field, tall like a building with red, orange and green bright lights surrounding it and green humanoids 60 cm tall with long ears and red eyes" became the talk of the local villagers there in the month of October 1995.

Very soon the news reached the big national newspapers and the incident became national news. The incident became so big that some of the newspapers sent out their reporters to investigate the case. Here is an account by a reporter from " The Star" newspaper, Mr Ricky Lai in 1995 - " I went there at night and waited for a few hours then suddenly I saw a powerful bright light that could be seen from many kilo-meter away hovering and moving near the ground in the nearby jungle.

It look like the lights was falling down to the ground and I went to search for the landing site but could not find any evidences of landing. I took a few photographs of the lights and was awestruck that I had just saw a UFO in my lifetime. I camped there for a week but the lights did not reappear again."

The Government Explanation

The Malaysian government heard about the incident but declined to investigate it. According to the Science and Technology Minister, Mr Law Heng Ding, the government did not have the resources to investigate UFOs in Malaysia. He further said that they did not believe the story and since there were no damages or loss of life, the government believe the incident did not need a formal investigation and the case was closed.

The Tanjung Sepat UFO incident in 1995 was a big and memorable UFO sighting in Malaysia. Right after the incident occurred, the country organised the first Malaysia UFO Conference in a hotel in December 1995 which was a huge success, thanks to this incident. Whether this incident is true or not, nobody knows for sure but it cause a deep interest in the study of unidentified flying objects and strange lights in the skies of Malaysia.

10 Top UFO Hotspots In Malaysia

Last week I was curious about looking for the 10 top UFO hotspots in Malaysia but there wasn't much information on this. Sure, there were many sites and articles telling their interesting stories where UFOs have been spotted and You-tube videos but where are the top UFO hotspots in Malaysia ? This lead me to think that I will need to find out more and write an article to share some information with UFOs enthusiasts in Malaysia.

The information that I have gathered are from local newspapers, sites, books, articles and videos show that sightings of UFOs were as far back as the 1950's and all the states in Malaysia have reported UFO sightings. However, the number of reported sightings were much higher in West than the East Malaysia states. This lead me to believe that the hotspots were most likely in the West Malaysia states and these were the places that I've mostly looked at.

According to the data that I have collected from these sources, the 10 top UFO hotspots in Malaysia are :-

Sungai Petani

Kuala Lumpur

Petaling Jaya

Alor Setar

Bukit Mertajam

Johor Baharu

The hotspots mentioned above represent places where there are at least three and above number of sightings and humanoids encounters over the last 60 years in Malaysia. In my humble opinion, new hotspots may also appear elsewhere in the future. However, if you are staying near or in these hotspots, it might be a good idea to look into the skies often, who knows, you might see something strange there.

A Short Biography on Mr Ahmad Jamaludin, Ufo Expert Researcher In Malaysia

Ever since I was a boy, I was fascinated with stories and theories on UFOs and alien beings visiting our planet. The interest within me grew more with the dawn of the internet. Suddenly the news, articles, books, videos and films on the subject were readily available with a push of a button instead of the old-fashioned time consuming and costly way of going to the book store and buying books on them.

Mr Ahmad Jamaludin Biography

It was through the internet that I got to know about the work of Mr Ahmad Jamaludin, a well-known UFO researcher living in Malaysia. He can be contacted via his Facebook page. A brief biography on him. He lives in a small town of Kuala Trengganu in the east coast state of Trengganu in Malaysia and have spent over 30 years of his life engaging in researching UFO and alien beings and contributing his ideas and knowledge as author by writing articles for UFO journals and magazines worldwide.

The UFO Author and Expert

He is the local expert who has the most comprehensive knowledge on UFOs and alien beings in Malaysia and has written a book titled "60 Years of Neglected Evidences : Analysis of Global Humanoid Encounter Reports (1946 -2006) which was a best-seller worldwide and only can be bought via an e-book version on-line and another book titled "A Summary of Unidentified Flying Objects and Related Events in Malaysia (1950-1980)", which was published by The Centre for UFO Studies in 1981 and a best-seller in Malaysia and out of print now. Besides these 2 books that he wrote many years ago, he was also instrumental in organising the first ever Malaysia UFO conference which was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in December 1995.

The Book : "A Summary of Unidentified Flying Objects and Related Events in Malaysia (1950-1980)"

What is interesting in his book "A Summary of Unidentified Flying Objects and Related Events in Malaysia (1950-1980)" is that there are only about 100 encounters in Malaysia in the last 30 years from 1950-1980 but what is strange about the UFOs and alien humanoids that people in Malaysia encountered were micro UFOs less than 3 feet in length and small alien humanoids measuring 3 inches in height wearing mini space suits and carrying mini ray guns in the nearby rice fields and jungles in Malaysia. Coincidences or not, these micro crafts and little beings were seen by children (perhaps they are so small that adults don't notice them!) and when these children tried to catch them, they were zapped with mini ray guns which these small humanoids were carrying with them.

Mr Ahmad Jamaludin has been quiet for a number of years now but I'm sure that when there are mass sightings of UFOs in Malaysia as he has predicted some years ago, he will come back and share his ideas with us !

Miniature and micro UFOs and small alien beings in Malaysia

Ever since I was a kid, I have been always fascinated with the paranormal in my country, especially miniature and micro UFO sightings in Malaysia. It could have been an alien toy I got as a birthday gift or seeing Steven Spielberg's 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind' back in 1977 when I was 12 years old. Nothing much happened after that as I was busy with getting a good education and graduating from college. Then came the internet, with so many UFO sites, news and videos; the interest about UFO came back to me again.

Unfortunately, the incidences of UFO sightings are rare in Malaysia for one reason to another. Perhaps the alien beings do not find Malaysia interesting enough for a visit, or they cannot find what they are after in this country, a usual remarks made by local UFO amateur researchers. When we do see them, they are not much different from what's happening in other countries; strange bright lights in the night sky which are not aircraft or helicopters or balloons, disc-shaped like objects making no noise flying in the sky during daytime.

However, there's something different about UFO and alien sightings in Malaysia compared to other parts of the world. According to Mr Ahmad Jamaludin, a UFO researcher living in Malaysia, who wrote a book on UFO sightings called "60 Years of Neglected Evidence: Analysis of Global Humanoid Encounter Reports (1946-2006), there are only about 100 or so sightings of UFO and alien beings in the last 60 years in Malaysia.

However, what is strange is that the UFOs Mr Ahmad had documented in his book for Malaysia are micro UFOs around 6 inches long and small green men around 2-3 inches tall found in the jungles. There were about 4-5 incidences of this kind where the people mostly children saw these micro crafts and the green men while playing around the fields and jungles. When the children attempted to catch them, these micro crafts and alien being fire mini ray guns at these children and ran away. How true this information I have no idea but these cases were in local newspapers and some of the cases were actually verified by adults who accompanied these children's to see the micro crafts and little men.

I believe these are Malaysian UFO crafts and alien beings, unique only to Malaysia. If you have similar stories of miniature UFOs and small alien beings, do contact me.

UFO sighting in Sunway (2012)

Monday July 30, 2012 ‘UFO sighting’ in Sunway posted on YouTube By REGINA LEE

PETALING JAYA: A locally shot video on YouTube has got tongues wagging about a possible UFO sighting over Sunway Mentari here. However, the possibility was shot down by experts who said there had to be an explanation for the phenomenon. Videographer John Tan was having dinner here two weeks ago when he noticed the stars shining extra brightly and in clusters of blinking colourful lights. With his equipment at hand, he proceeded to document the event, complete with witty commentary from his convinced supper-mates. A day later, on July 15, he posted the video on YouTube and it has been viewed at least 1,000 times since. “The lights were there for another two hours after we first spotted it at about 9pm. “After staring at it for about an hour, we even got into our car to look for the source of the lights but couldn't find it,” said the 29-year-old. He dismissed the possibility of it being a toy. “It is impossible that a toy running on normal batteries would last that long,” he said. However, a commentator on YouTube debunked the theory saying they were merely kites which were lit, although Tan insisted it was a windless night. When contacted, the National Space Agency (Angkasa) also opined that it was unlikely that kites were involved. “People don't fly kites at night because there is no wind,” said director-general Dr Mustafa Din Subari. However, he is sceptical of the possibility that alien life forms with superior technology were paying Earth a visit either. “It is not the first time Malaysians claimed to have witnessed such a phenomenon. It happens every now and then,” he said. Malaysia's first Angkasawan Datuk Dr Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor also said there should be a logical explanation. “One of the reasons we go to space is to see if there are other life forms out there. “Alien or not, as we found out, there is no evidence yet and we are still searching for it.” For now, Tan's mysterious footage is still unexplained and the truth still out there.
To me, the two bright lights look like motorised LED kites because of their flight pattern similar to kites even though there is no wind blowing there. What is your take on this?

UFO sighting in Sabah (2010)

Could it be a strange cloud formation ? But it does look like a cloaked UFO doesn't it ? This is the image of the UFO seen in Sabah in 2010 at Tuaran Beach Resort, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Resort guests and workers at the beach resort reported seeing the UFO floating in the sky silently and that turned green a few seconds later and then after a few minutes just disappeared in an instant.

Until today it remains a mystery that has yet to be solved or explained. Sabah is a beautiful state in Malaysia, with spectacular beaches and mountains that attract thousands of foreign tourists a year. With this UFO sighting, could it turn into another attraction for Sabah ?
